Nourishing Hearts, One Story at a Time

The RI Black Storytellers bring people together through its Community Flavors program and the universal language of food, music and story—creating meaningful connections among veterans and their families. Each event immerses participants in the sights, sounds, and tastes of diverse cultures, offering both celebration and healing through shared experience. Storytellers, musicians, and chefs collaborate to honor the journeys of veterans while fostering understanding across communities.

With support from the White Family Foundation, Community Flavors continues to grow as a space for connection, reflection, and belonging. The program’s thoughtful blend of creativity and community care reminds us that healing can happen around a table—through the simple, powerful act of sharing a meal and a story.
