The White Family Foundation has been proud to support the Newport String Project as part of our commitment to strengthening the arts in Newport County.

Our continued funding helps sustain their free after-school music lessons in violin, viola, and cello for students in Newport’s public schools. Starting in kindergarten and continuing through high school, the program offers more than music instruction—it provides mentorship, discipline, and a sense of belonging to students in Newport’s public schools.

Modeled after the highly successful Community MusicWorks in Providence, which the Foundation has supported for over five years, the Newport String Project pairs youth with local artists who guide them through a rigorous, inspiring journey of musical and personal growth.
