Where Imagination Takes Shape
At DownCity Design (DCD), creativity meets innovation to empower the next generation of designers and problem-solvers. For years, the White Family Foundation has been a proud partner in DCD’s mission—helping bring to life spaces where imagination can take shape. Foundation support made possible the construction of the new Community Room within DCD’s renovated Community Design Studio on Cranston Street, a vibrant hub that opened late last year.
In the upcoming program year, DCD is taking its work even further by introducing a cutting-edge curriculum in emerging technologies, giving teens ages 11–18 hands-on experience with tools like laser cutters, CNC routers, and 3D printers—all at no cost to them. Through this ongoing partnership, the Foundation continues to help DCD inspire creativity, curiosity, and confidence—equipping young people with the skills to design not just projects, but brighter futures.
