A Symphony of Learning, Leadership, and Belonging

At Community MusicWorks (CMW), music becomes a catalyst for growth, connection, and opportunity. Serving 150 young people from Providence’s most under-resourced neighborhoods, CMW’s Youth Music Program offers free, high-quality instruction that nurtures creativity and community pride. With support from the White Family Foundation, the program is expanding to include an early childhood partnership with the John Hope Settlement House, new drop-in sessions, and a growing Daily Orchestra Program—complete with free weekly lessons, group rehearsals, and teen leadership opportunities.

Thanks to the Foundation’s continued partnership over the past five years, CMW has been able to dream bigger—extending its reach and impact within its new Music Center, which opened in September of 2025. Each note played is a reflection of what sustained investment in the arts can do: inspire young people, strengthen communities, and create harmony that resonates far beyond the classroom.
